Boho Yosemite Elopement

I was in heaven for this boho Yosemite elopement! Gillian is an amazing family and newborn photographer in Australia so it’s always the biggest compliment ever to be chosen by another photographer!!

Gillian and Adam spent the month before their elopement doing the sickest road trip everrrr all around CA and the west coast – they put over 7k mikes on their rental by the time we met up and have seen more of CA than the majority of locals!!! I freakin love their adventurous hearts & laid-back vibe.

These two lovers always knew a big wedding just wasn’t them. And nothing makes me happier than when my couples do what THEY actually want!! Getting to capture them taking in the magic that is Yosemite for their first time was the coolest experience ever.

Plus it was the warmest summer day ever so I knew it was going to be amazing!! We started at a cute little hike outside of Yosemite! I knew Gillian was my spirit animal when I saw her wedding socks had pictures of her pups and cat on them!!!!! I have the same socks with my pups on them lol!! So obsessed!!!! I love that she wore her socks and hiking boots with the most stunning boho Rue de Seine wedding dress!! It was so perfect with her boho bouquet and tattoos!! Not to mention her personalized jean jacket with the best floral embroidery??? Serious bridal inspo!!

Gillian and I drove together so we could do their first look in Yosemite and I got to hear all about how they met: they went to high school together but were just acquaintances and didn’t really think anything of each other Gillian thought..… little did she know Adam had a fat crush on her!!! One day she wrote a FB post about how she was bored and he responded asking her to go to the beach. She didn’t think much of it and said yes! Next thing you know they were caught in a massive storm and spent the whole day stuck together and basically FELL IN LOVE! Ok maybe not in love but they talked nonstop the whole time and were pretty much inseparable ever since!!! (Can we make a movie about this or what?!!?)

After the cutest first look in a field of yellow wildflowers, these two hiked up to the best ceremony spot in Yellowstone!! Gillian & Adam brought along a lightweight rug for the ceremony – they said they wanted to use it later on as a picnic/family rug with the special memory attached to their wedding day! Such a cool idea and I love that they will always have that reminder of their boho elopement!!!

Also can we talk about the sunset!!!!! Getting to watch the sunset colors change in Yosemite is the most magical experience ever!!! So of course we captured some epic bride & groom portraits while these two soaked up every moment!!!

If you’re as obsessed as I am, you can check out another gorgeous sunset elopement at Yosemite here!!
